Pot O’ Gold. No winner last week, so this week the pot is $300. The gold grows every week. Be sure to join us every Friday night and you too could be a winner. Remember, you must have an open tab to win. Texas Hold’em Players are dealing every Wednesday, at 7:30 pm. Get those extra chips by ordering food and drinks. All are welcome, so come and double down and “Go all in,” and have some fun with other CRYC members. Sail with us every Sunday from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm. We are starting weekly sailing lessons for adults as well as children. We will meet at the small sailboats by the northeast section of the docks. Our hope is that we’ll start building up the number of regular participants so that we can have races among ourselves and then against other clubs. This is a membership-supported event, and there will be no charge. We are looking for anyone who wants to help, whether you know how to sail or not. Lyn Baldwin & Co. is fun music for everyone in the Burgee Bar every Friday night for happy hour. She will be at the Point Bar & Grille Friday February 19th. Book Club Next month's read is “Hot, flat and crowed” by Thomas Friedman. Please make a reservation if you are going to attend. Remember we accept all your gently-read books in our upstairs library. Family Activities chairperson is Lisa Keefe & Tim McCoy this year. The next family event will be the fishing tournament for everyone. Check it out below. Next month our movie on the lawn will be “UP” on Friday March 5. March 14, Bocce Ball on the lawn at the Point Bar & Grille. March 26, Oreo cookie stacking contest. In April Family Bingo is on Thursday April 1st for the whole family. We have the Easter Rabbit visit along with Easter egg hunt Easter Sunday at 2:00 pm, April 4th. CRYC Sailfishing Tournament will be held Saturday February 27th. The Captain’s meeting will be Friday 6:00 pm at the Point Bar & Grille with complimentary hors d’oeuvres. Saturday lines in the water 8:00 am; lines out at 1:30 pm; return to the Club by 3:30 pm. Dinner buffet with live music 4:00 pm with awards and prizes 5:00 pm. ($50.00 per person for full tournament, 4-man crew per boat $200). Dinner buffet only $25.00 per person, children $7.95. This is a great day to spend with your friends and family. Cruisers Our Cruisers' dinner will be hosted tonight by our new Cruisers Chair, Ginny & Governor Marver Glenn,, on February 18th at the Point Bar & Grille. Bingo returns the first Tuesday of every month. Our next Bingo night is Tuesday, March 2nd. Come in for a nice dinner in the Wheel Room and B-I-N-G-O starts up at 7:30 pm in the Main Dining Room. A Social Bridge Group is being put together for the fun-bridge player that wants to relax and have fun! Singles Night Happy Hour will be hosted and chaired by Elaine Sacco this year. She invites everyone to Singles Night on the second and fourth Friday of every month. The next happy hour will meet February 25th, come out and join her with free appetizers and half-priced drinks. Anc’Hers & CRYC Auxiliary are perfect for the ladies to join in their fun-events at the Club. Call Elaine Rosenberg for the Anc’Hers & Barbara Kinnear for Auxiliary. Auxiliary has some wonderful plans for you this year. Our Mardi Gras party is this Saturday February 20th and is hosted by them along with a fabulous ladies' Tea Party on March 4th at 2:00 pm with live music, scones, jams and cucumber sandwiches. Join the fun and make sure you sign up for their monthly luncheons on the second Wednesday of every month. The next luncheon is on March 10th, celebrating St Patrick’s Day. Captains’ Club is perfect for the gentlemen with their Tuesday luncheons and fantastic community speakers from finance gurus to chairmen of the board. Join their fun by calling Captain George Thorne. Or just show up. No reservations required. Live Jazz on the Verandah upstairs, overlooking our beautiful waterway, featuring Rich Hernandez from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm on Thursday, February 25. This entire menu is only $29.95, with your choice of steak, salmon or chicken with baked potato and salad bar. Live Jazz Brunch is at the Point Bar & Grille scheduled for Sunday, February 28th. 10:00 am – 2:00 pm only $12.95 for the breakfast brunch buffet. Cigar Night PLUS ONE is Tuesday February 23rd, 5:30 pm -7:30 pm during happy hour. Bring an extra cigar to share with your buddy-connoisseurs. An appetizer menu will be available. March Events will be bringing in many fun events starting with the Yachtsmens’ Ball, Saturday March 6, hosted by our Fleet Captain Ray & Ellen Ramey. Gentlemen please wear blue blazers and white pants and ladies in cocktail attire. This is a celebration for all those who participated in the Fleet Review for 2010. Award plaques will be awarded to all those captains who participated this year. We have beautiful surf n turf dinner planned for $36.00 plus the Joe Kules trio AND Lyn Baldwin will be entertaining us with songs for your dancing pleasure. St Patrick’s Day will be a journey through Ireland with hosts Jim & Millicent Hogan, Sally Moxon, Lynne & Rear Commodore Ralph McGrath featuring the Joe Kules Trio and an ole’ Irish sing-a-long. We will be serving a traditional Irish feast of corn beef and cabbage, $27.00. Come dressed in your favorite Irish Green for the festivities. Mafalda Natale will be hosting our annual Cosmopolitan Night which is foods and tastes from different cultures from around the world buffet for only $27.00 featuring the Joe Kules Trio. Hot Rod Stewart is back featuring the talents of George Orr impersonating the famous Rod Stewart. Come join the fun for a rock n roll evening with Rod Stewart and a Prime Rib Dinner for only $39.95.
M.I.P. Program was launched at our Incoming Commodore’s Ball by Commodore Len Tower, last Saturday. Elaine Sacco is the campaign chairperson with the group leaders: David Kinnear, Richard Kazares, Joe Cantu, Governor Bob Epstein and Richard Scheff.
