said it wouldn't work and couldn't be done, but Cynthia Kelly, Phil
Chinook, and Jerry Maguire pulled it off. Twenty-nine boats arrived,
crewed by 75 people, who partied the weekend away. Some rafted up,
while others went stern in, to provide adequate room for all. A lack
of utilities didn't stop the Cruisers!
Friday night was spent with a provided-cook out. Desert, was a cake
celebrating the 46th anniversary of Brian and Peggy
Hewitt.
Saturday morning, all gathered for a continental breakfast. Most
then went on a scavenger hunt on the trail to the lighthouse. Mitch
Tunkel organized a trip to Stiltsville, which was hard to beat. A
picnic lunch was consumed in the middle of nowhere. Dinner was the
highlight of the weekend. It was catered with an ample supply of
paella and roasted pig. The famous pirate group, headed up by Mitch
Tunkel, supplied surprise entertainment.
The weekend ended slowly on Sunday morning. A gourmet breakfast was
provided to all, including lox, bagels capers and the works - before
departing to homeports. The weekend weather was perfect, with
excellent timing as a cold front entered South Florida on Monday
morning.
