The
cruise to CRYC was, as expected, a huge success. Thanks to Cynthia
Kelly and Phillip Chinook, for the planning., and Ray and Ellen
Ramey for coordinating slip space, the weekend went off without a
hitch. Fuel burn was not a problem with a weekend at the club.
Friday, 58 cruisers arrived at slips or anchored out in the lake
adjacent to the club. A group cocktail party, with hors d'oeuvres,
was hosted aboard Wishes Granted (Jay and Marty Wetzel), .Evergreen
(Dave and Ann Mullen ), and Bliss (Elaine Sacco). An
abundance of food and beverage was consumed without a single slip
into the water.
Saturday morning, a group breakfast buffet was provided at the Point
Bar. Sail boating in the adjacent lake took up the morning. Chinook
, Mullen, and Nelson got everyone started, and kept them safe. At
noon, another great sandwich and munchies buffet. were had to keep
up partier's strength. Afternoon activities were centered around the
swimming pool.
Saturday evening, a buffet was had at the Commodores Lounge, with
entertainment to follow. Mitch Tunkel kept everyone entertained with
"name that tune." Trying to stump the piano player had
many members singing solo. Cynthia presented awards for sailboat
participation. Rumor has it that some people then closed down the
rock and roll party at the Point Bar.
Sunday morning was another buffet breakfast. Brian Hewitt then
organized a Bocce tournament, which was won by Cory and Nikki
Lachambre. Following another sandwich spread, the cruisers departed
for homeports. Many thanks to Ray and Ellen Ramey, Cynthia Kelly,
and Phillip Chinook for a great weekend.
