WOW! The Poker Run was a rip-roaring, soaking success and our many thanks to Cory Lachambre and Shane Fox who did an outstanding job of orchestrating 20 dinghies and 80 people.  The day started with breakfast at the Point Bar & Grille, which was certainly well attended, signing up for cards and securing guns and ammo for ensuing water fights.

At noon we departed for our first stop, Southport Raw Bar. We arrived soaked and shared pitchers of beer, wings and more.  We definitely had our fill before drawing another card and departing for the Pelican Bar at Pier 66.  Even wetter now, we arrived to imbibe in discounted Mojitos, Ceviche and other delicious treats.  Another card and we were onward to Bahia Cabana.  By

now our dinghies were swamped but we clearly were feeling no pain.  A few more cocktails, our fourth card and we were headed back to the Club.  By now some poker hands were looking great and others, well. …  The Point Bar & Grille, the beginning and end, was our last chance for a winning hand and Dolly McBride got that, and everything else.  Tons of goodies were raffled so we had lots of winners; as a matter of fact; anyone who attended was a winner!

A great buffet was the grand finale and I guess I needn't say that we had a fabulous time.  Again, thanks to Cory and Shane and all the others who pitched in.  This great event raised $1500 for improvements to the Point Bar.  Nothing but kudos for the Poker Run.
