Welcome from Commodore
Leonard Tower

Welcome to the Coral Ridge Yacht Club's website.  We are located in beautiful Fort Lauderdale Florida directly on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, just north of the Sunrise Blvd. drawbridge.  CRYC is 62 years old with a magnificent clubhouse providing both formal and informal dining, an outstanding bar plus an outdoor bar and grille next to the beautiful pool, a children's playground and two tennis courts.  There are 53 slips accommodating yachts up to 100 ft. in length with 50-200 ampere electric service, water and pump-out facilities at every slip.  We can accommodate visiting yachts from other yacht clubs in the Florida Council.  Call 954-566-7886 for reservations.

Click here for a map to help you find  us.

CRYC is the "Club that loves to party."  As you surf this site, check out some of the recent party pictures.  They range from the informal to costume to black tie.  We have an active cruisers group with monthly group cruises to locations along the south eastern coast to the keys to the islands.  if you are a member, or want to get a taste of our member's activities, check out the Activities Page. Go here for What's New.

The Coral Ridge Yacht Club is bounded to the north by Sunrise Bay (a nice anchorage) and to the south by Coral Bay - home to a number of megayachts.  Across the waterway is the Hugh Taylor Birch State Park.  Click here for a "blimp-eye" view.

Sailing classes at CRYC

We are going to have sailing Wednesday afternoons from 2 – 5 pm. Dockmaster Sharon Crockett will be setting up a course for fun racing or just open sailing. Sharon will also be available for sailing instruction upon request. Also we are bringing back Sunday afternoon sailing every other Sunday, beginning Nov. 8 from noon to 3 pm. Chris Waidele has volunteered for this along with Sharon Crockett. Walker Bay and Optimist dinghies are available. Come down, get checked out, and enjoy an afternoon of sailing. With additional volunteers, more Sundays will be added.

Ginny Glenn of the Cruisers
provides the following alert:

Hello Fellow Cruisers:

We have just posted an important notice authored by
our fearless roving reporter, Captain Jane Tigar,
about a series of containers accidentally dropped
from an ocean going freighter. These potential
obstructions are littering the Gulf Stream waters
off the Palm Beaches, and will be of great concern
to those cruisers looking to cross to the Bahamas from Florida.
If you are contemplating a cruise from Florida,
across the Gulf Stream, please check out Captain Jane's
full account by going to:
